Sin
City, the name says it all - violence, nudity and down right
inappropriate subject matter make up the current movie Sin City. I
made it through the whole movie. Some people, about 2 or 3, walked out of
the movie within an hour of it starting. I wasn't really enjoying the
movie, but at the end I decided that it wasn't that bad. But I definitely
would not pay to see it again. The graphics and special effects were good.
It was presented in the style of the old comic books. It was black and
white with a few spots of color and special effects.

Did you know that William Shakespeare, the man from Stratford, England may not be the author of all the Shakespeare writings - sonnets, plays, etc. Some historians feel that someone else wrote what Shakespeare is traditionally given credit. The topic on a recent Larry King Live episode was great books. Larry King's guests were authors of great books. They discussed their books, writing them or anything unique about them. It happens that Larry King's entertainment lawyer wrote a book about the works of William Shakespeare. He said that he as well as other literary historians feel that the real author of the great Shakespearian works was an earl or some other higher status person, maybe even Queen Elizabeth I. In the time of Shakespeare it was inappropriate for people of status and stature to be involved with anything in entertainment. The thinking is that someone wrote the great masterpieces and William Shakespeare agreed to take credit for them. The William Shakespeare that we know did not have more than a sixth grade education, was not highly literate and probably never left England. Interesting.
Does TV really imitate real life? Sometimes. I think TV slants more to the left than the right in the depiction of "real" life. Have you seen any of the homosexual, gay and lesbian theme shows? Of course Will and Grace is probably the most popular and has been around the longest, but there are others. Bravo's Queer Eye for the Straight Man has been running for awhile now. I really don't care for it. Cute, but stupid at the same time. There's a new lesbian show out, The L Word starring Jennifer Beal of Flash Dance fame. And how could we ever forget Samantha's lesbian love affair in HBO's Sex and the City. My, it seems that it's so fashionable to be gay these days. Personally, these shows do nothing for me, but I applaud their attempts to get the forbidden subject out of the closet, so to speak. This is real life.
