Kingdom
Of Heaven, an excellent movie. It took place during the Crusades. It
really wasn’t about the Crusades per se, but it took place during that
time period. The movie, a long one, too long for me, but I did sit through
the whole thing. It was good, but it moved at a slow pace and was long.
Orlando Bloom did an outstanding job as the main character. Definitely
see the movie.
Monster-In-Law,
another great movie, although a completely different kind of movie than
Kingdom. It was a great comedy. I actually laughed out loud on several
occasions while watching the movie. Jane Fonda and Jennifer Lopez both put
in stellar performances in this movie. If you want to laugh, see the movie.
Not too much on TV excites me. CNN and MSNBC are the best channels on TV for me, cable as well as network TV. There are a few network shows that really interest me. I'm watching Desperate Housewives with more regularity now. I'm learning to appreciate the show. It is stupid, but funny and it does do a pretty good job of chronicling the personal lives and situations of it's main characters - the desperate housewives. Teri Hatcher is the best. I think she is a great actress and getting better performance by performance.
I am simply in love with the drama that follows housewives - Grey's Anatomy. I think that it is one of the best shows on TV. It too explores the lives of it's characters, but in this case the characters are hospital interns. The show is a moving, interesting and authentic depiction of the lives of hospital interns.
The ABC Fall line up includes a very interesting new drama that has caught my interest, Commander-in-chief. It's a female West Wing, starring Geena Davis as the first woman president. I think that I may watch that show, at least at the beginning, until I lose interest. I usually loose interest in many TV shows after a few episodes. As I said before, the 24 hour news channels are my mainstay in TV viewing.
