Entertainment...
Finally I saw some movies in March. Of course it was during Spring Break, but nevertheless I saw two movies. On March 21 I saw Hostage. It was a good movie. Bruce Willis always gives a stellar performance in anything he does. Going back to Moonlighting, I've always enjoyed a Bruce Willis movie. In Hostage Willis plays a small town police chief engaged in a hostage situation. Years earlier the character was in a more prestigious position with the FBI or some such "cops" affiliation. The movie was a Bruce Willis, action movie with all of the Bruce Willis idiosyncrasies. His real-life daughter played in the movie. How time flies. I read an article in today's Sunday paper about the relationship of Willis, Demi Moore and Demi's young love interest Ashton Kutcher. A reader was wondering why Bruce Willis seemed so approving of Demi and Ashton's relationship. The writer of the article says that Willis is more concerned about his relationship with his three daughters, so he keeps a close and supportive role in the situation. What a great attitude. I wonder, why does any one have to "approve" of any one's situation in life. People are so judgmental. Who cares? Live and let live. Also, people should be more concerned about living their own life in the manner that is commensurate with their own personal belief's and ideals.
I also saw Constantine during Spring Break. It was OK. It sure was different from the original Exorcist. In Constantine Keanu Reeves plays a modern day exorcist. It was a strange movie. It hasn't gotten great reviews. I understand why. Keanu Reeves humor in the film made it unbelievably inconsistent with the subject matter being portrayed. It was scary, although Reeves subjective humor made it seem like a comedy. Reeves stupid side-comments took the edge off what might have been a very scary movie. I saw it on Good Friday of all days. I was sitting in the cinema and I kept thinking, why am I seeing this movie on Good Friday. As the world was remembering Jesus hanging on the cross, I was watching a demonic movie. What can I say? I remember the original Exorcist movie. It was a lot scarier and much more believable. I saw it in 1973 on Holy Saturday night. Some one with less self-esteem and less self realization may start wondering about the coincidences. But not me. I know who I am and what I believe. Enough said.
